As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. As a Heavy Equipment/Forklift Operator, you will report directly to the site Supervisor and play a key role in safely transporting materials across the facility. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading products using high-capacity forklifts (20,000–60,000 lbs) and other heavy material handling equipment. Hands-on experience with rigging and stationary gantry cranes is essential to succeed in this role. You will work Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional weekend shifts and overtime as needed. You will be compensated weekly at $23.51 per hour with a weekly pay.
How you create impact
+ Operate high-capacity forklifts (20,000–60,000 lbs), reach trucks, and other heavy material handling equipment to load and unload trailers, transport products, and organize materials across the facility
+ Receive and verify incoming shipments, ensuring accurate inventory documentation and handling
+ Assist with palletizing, shrink wrapping, and preparing materials for storage or outbound delivery
+ Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safe and efficient functionality
+ Safely execute heavy lifting and rigging tasks, including securing loads and using appropriate rigging gear
+ Operate stationary gantry cranes, with emphasis on safety, precision, and adherence to load handling procedures
+ Adhere to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment
+ Support additional operational tasks and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
What we would like you to bring
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum 1 year of recent experience operating heavy forklifts (20,000–60,000 lbs capacity)
+ Valid forklift operator certification
+ Proven experience with heavy lifting and rigging, including securing loads and using rigging equipment safely
+ Hands-on experience operating a stationary gantry crane in an industrial or warehouse setting
+ Ability to lift and maneuver loads up to 50 pounds safely and consistently
+ Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
+ Capable of standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
