Hiring Range : $91,124.80- $118,476.80
The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities:
+ Curriculum and Content Development : Ensure that educational content is evidence-based,relevant, and aligned with current best practices. Develop and maintain educational resources,ncluding online modules, presentations, and other materials.
+ Evaluation and Improvement : Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and training initiatives. Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for program enhancements. Development of educational programs both short- and long-range planning for the education department
+ Leadership and Management : Supervise and mentor education staff, including trainers and educators. Manage education department budgets and resources for educational programs.
+ Regulatory Compliance and Safety : Ensures that care is provided that is consistent with standards of ANA, and Joint Commission. Ensures consistency in standard of care provided across programs/departments. Assures that departmental operations and policies meet hospital safety policies for equipment, management, life safety, infection control and emergency preparedness. Assures on-going training for staff on proper handling, use, storage and labeling of all supplies and equipment and safe patient handling. Conducts regular assessment of educational program effectiveness and outcomes utilizing data analytics
+ Clinical Care and Outcomes : Ensures nursing care reflects current professional standards and best practice. Develops clinical care objectives and measurements for provision of care specific to continuing education opportunities. Provides reports to Senior Nurse Administration on the progress of education programs.
+ Leadership : Attends and actively participates in education department and hospital-wide committee meetings and activities, seeking opportunities to provide leadership within areas of expertise. Collaborates with Nursing Administration & staff to identify and address learning needs, gaps and opportunities. Ensures education departmental compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting agencies. Selects appropriate instructional strategies for educational programs. Provides consistent, meaningful feedback to learners with more focused feedback as needed to staff · Collaborates with the Clinical Nurse leadership team to identify educational opportunities related to patient care needs. Evaluates staff competencies and compliance with patient care and unit documentation requirements. Responsible for the onboarding and orientation of clinical agency staff . Overview of clinical orientation for new employees. Develops partnerships with academic institutions and professional organizations. Conducts regular assessment of educational program effectiveness and outcomes utilizing data analytics.Develop and implement preceptorship and mentorship programs.
Education:
+ Education, Training & Expereince: Graduate of a nursing education program registered by NYSED as license qualifying for RN BLS Provider obtained within three (3) Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. RN credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing obtained prior to date of hire or job transfer.
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare, Administration preferred or Doctorate in Nursing.
+ Experience: Three (3) years relevant progressive leadership experience, current experience in a Pathways to Excellence or Magnet organization, evidence of participation in education or planning activities associated with a School of Nursing. Current RN experience required.
Certifications / Licensure:
+ Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in NYS. National certification in relevant specialty preferred. Valid NYS driver’s license required.
