This position supervises patient care to ensure quality nursing care is given throughout the facility. Supervises all personnel who deliver direct patient services. Supports the hospital and program philosophy of care to ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.

+ Oversees all nursing units to ensure all patient needs are met. Responsible for maintaining a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for all patients.

+ Supervises and coordinates work of licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel on all units. Assists with orientation, training and development, performance management, and employee relations issues.

+ Serves as administrative authority for the smooth function of the facility on assigned shift. Notifies CEO, CNO, or ADON of urgent concerns during the shift.

+ Works with the CNO to determine the optimal allocation of staff, per shift on each unit. Assures that staffing is in place and reassigns staff according to unit needs.

+ Monitors all staffing, records absenteeism, replaces staff for absences and vacancies for upcoming shift(s), monitors meal and break times, works on the units when needed.

+ Responsible for communication with physicians, family members, or other outside entities.

+ Assists RNs in assessing patients who are experiencing acute changes. Provides clinical expertise in the management of medical and psychiatric emergencies.

+ Continuously rounds to monitor the units and patient care.

+ Responds to all codes and assists as needed.

+ Audits charts routinely. Provides clinical expertise in documentation.

Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6:00pm - 6:30am

Requirements

+ Current State of Nevada RN License required

+ Previous supervisory experience in a team role required

+ Ability to organize activities and schedules for patients

+ Ability to stabilize acute psychotic and non-violent crises by using accepted intervention techniques
