    Job Title: OR AssistantDepartment: Surgical Services Location: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital - Newark, NY Hours Per Week: 40 hours per weekSchedule: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM SUMMARY:As an OR Assistant, your exceptional organization and collaboration abilities assist in the operational success of the unit and patient outcomes.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Uses team effort to accomplish room turnover within acceptable time frames. Primarily responsible for cleanliness and safety of environment for staff, medical staff, patients, residents, and students setting; work as a team to accomplish room turnover

    + Provides education, training, and guidance to less experienced individuals.

    + Performs other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + None.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

    + One (1) year patient care and/or operating room experience in an accredited hospital preferred.

    + Basic computer skills

    + Demonstrate understanding of aseptic technique

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
