System One has a direct hire opportunity with a client in the Houston, TX area. This role is located onsite at their headquarters. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Systems Administrator with strong skills in Microsoft 365, Windows systems, and network security.

Direct Hire – not open to C2C or sponsorships.

Systems Administrator

Primary Responsibilities

+ Install, configure, and maintain Windows systems, hardware, and enterprise applications.

+ Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Entra ID.

+ Manage user accounts, licenses, permissions, and security groups via Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

+ Implement and manage security features such as MFA, Conditional Access, and DLP.

+ Troubleshoot mail flow, authentication, and collaboration tool issues.

+ Maintain firewalls, VPNs, and other network security technologies.

+ Support end users and resolve escalated technical issues across hardware, software, and networking.

+ Create and maintain documentation for systems and standard operating procedures.

+ Collaborate with IT staff on infrastructure projects and improvements.

Experience, Education, and Skills

Required:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

+ 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 environments

+ Strong proficiency in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Entra ID

+ Experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools

+ Skilled in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration

+ Familiarity with Intune, firewalls, and networking protocols

Preferred:

+ Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-104, or Enterprise Administrator Expert

+ Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Purview

+ Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, etc.
