    Student Financial Aid Advisor I - Online Learning DFW

    Position Description:

    As a Student Financial Aid Advisor, you will play a vital role in assisting students and their families in navigating the complex landscape of financial aid and funding options for higher education. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive guidance, support, and resources to help students achieve their educational goals without being burdened by excessive financial stress. You will serve as a knowledgeable and empathetic resource, addressing inquiries, offering personalized advice, and ensuring that students are well-informed about the various financial aid programs available to them.

    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Provide knowledgeable and professional guidance to students, parents, high school counselors, and other entities for online student population.

    + Adhere to University Policy, Federal and State Regulations, to include FERPA.

    + Perform routine oversight of student awards and adjust financial aid awards as needed.

    + Utilize Banner and Cognos reports (ex. overawards, repeat coursework, etc.) to adjust student financial aid awards. Inform supervisor of outstanding issues or escaltions.

    + Represent the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships office by interacting with students, parents, high school counselors, and other entities at local and university events.

    + Utilize systems (i.e. Salesforce, Dynamic Forms, STS, Federal systems, etc.) to track advising appointments and emails and inform supervisor of outstanding issues.

    + Based on alpha split, student classification or other methodology as determined by leadership team, oversee and advise students regarding financial aid.

    + Banner Financial Aid Management System

    + Experience with university level counseling/advising
