Job Description Summary:
The Senior Consultant, Visual Media Installations will play a key role in managing the Installation and support of the conference rooms throughout the OhioHealth system. The position will lead the OhioHealth strategic imperative of growth by supporting installs and visual media activities. The position is accountable for assigning work, coordinating, and executing technology installations that align and fulfill OhioHealth’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. They require the ability to lead a team in assigning projects, working with vendors, and other departments throughout the OhioHealth system.
Responsibilities And Duties:
This position reports to the manager, Visual Media, with matrixed accountability to other team members. This position serves as a resource for management but does have supervisory responsibilities over other staff members. The Sr Consultant does not hire, fire, discipline, promote, demote, or transfer team members, but may be consulted by higher management in these areas. The Sr Consultant performs preliminary associate evaluations of team members and consults with the manager on associate performance and growth opportunities.
Manages, coordinates, and helps the team execute the installation, de-installation, and repair of Audio-Visual Equipment systems. They must have knowledge in CISCO Hub, Extron, Crestron, and complex AV systems.
Assist with creating standards of work, policies and procedures, and collect data for overall savings, and growth.
Manages the team in maintaining the surplus AV equipment inventory for repurposing throughout the system.
Must meet and maintain professional relationship with key stakeholders such as Design & Construction, Project Managers, IT, Construction contractors, Electric & low-voltage cable contractors, Facilities Engineering, AV Integration vendors and room owners or users to determine needs, usage, budget, and timeline.
Coordinates all facets of AV equipment installation, commissioning, and staff training.
Takes a lead role with AV Integration vendors and IT to determine the most suitable equipment/design.
Develops and manages the room design build criteria as it changes over time due to the advancement in technology or design philosophy.
Oversees the de-installation, transportation, storage, and redeployment of surplus AV equipment to achieve cost savings for system.
Handles multiple projects in different phases simultaneously while training, mentoring, and assisting other Visual Media Services Department staff members on their installation projects.
Serves as expert technical resource for equipment and technology problem troubleshooting.
Coordinate vendor service calls for difficult repairs and participates in recurring meetings for long-term projects.
Project management, time-management, ability to multi-task and strong technical background in AV systems are required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
Manages the workloads of all team members and assigns new projects to maintain balanced workloads and offer optimal learning opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree
Additional Job Description:
+ Associate’s degree, or related field. 6+ years’ experience in AV Installations.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
+ Excellent technical knowledge of software and hardware applications critical AV installations i.e. Extron PCS, TMS, Webex Control Hub, etc.
+ Superior technical knowledge of AV Installation projects and planning.
+ Ability and willingness to work under pressure; meet strict timelines and budgets, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to communicate thoughts clearly and simply is essential.
+ Strong leadership abilities as an informal team leader.
+ Superb oral communication, researching and presentation skills.
+ Innovative in collaboration and problem-solving with other departments and at all management levels.
+ Ability to manage multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
+ Understanding of AV installation planning including contract negotiation, vendor coordination, project management, construction processes, AV technologies, IT technologies.
+ Coordinate, schedule, and execute AV installation projects.
