MATERIAL HANDLER (TUESDAY - SATURDAY)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Support production/engineering with the movement of parts to support the master schedule

+ Safely load, secure, and transport equipment such as packages, hardware, and inventory items in support of flight or ground support equipment (GSE) operations

+ Physically move and expedite materials when required in support of production/engineering and meet work order completion dates

+ Verify all materials are packaged and banded for transport, and assist with loading and unloading of trucks

+ Support operations for flight vehicles

+ Verify all material transported for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity, and revisions

+ Interface with receiving, quality control, purchasing, and other related departments to resolve problems relative to the receipt and distribution of material

+ Operate material handling equipment, including but not limited to: forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks/trailers, and hand carts

+ Use an electronic material requirements planning (MRP) system to route parts and components to the proper departments

+ Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

+ High school diploma or equivalency certificate

+ 1+ years of expediting/material handling experience

+ Experience operating a forklift and/or material handling motorized vehicles and equipment such as trucks or trailers

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

+ Experience working within a manufacturing/production environment

+ Experience with barcode scanning to document material movement

+ Experience working with aircraft or automotive parts and assemblies

+ Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

+ Rigging experience is highly desired

+ Fragile item packaging experience

+ Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Typical hours for this position, excluding overtime, are Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm

+ Valid diver’s license

+ Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position

+ Must be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted

+ Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
