Position Overview:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce seeks an associate manager to support our tax, economic, and health policy groups by providing comprehensive administrative and logistical support for policy leads, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within the teams.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide general administrative support for policy leads (e.g., IT needs, calendars, phones, travel, expense reports, personal contacts, subscription renewals, invoicing, reoccurring meeting/conference call setup, and presentation design).
+ Write letters, draft memos, and other communication products for tax.
+ Schedule and coordinate meetings using Microsoft Teams, maintain calendars in Outlook, and compile briefing materials for meetings.
+ Receive visitors and answer routine inquiries and refer issue-specific matters to appropriate policy experts.
+ Provide virtual event and meeting logistics support using Microsoft Teams and other platforms as requested, including Zoom.
+ Support in-person events (e.g., greet guests; book rooms; handle catering, AV, and technical requirements; coordinate speaker travel; and circulate save the dates and other event notification emails).
+ Support policy leads on coalition activities (e.g., invoicing, tracking membership dues, and maintaining the website).
+ Oversee database management (e.g., maintain Salesforce distribution lists, archive meeting participation information, track member engagement, and liaise with Fundraising).
+ Manage information flow to and from the vice presidents, policy experts, and other staff, including preparing, editing, and proofreading letters, memos, and invitations.
+ Handle the editing and approval process for comment letters and testimony.
+ Help manage departmental budgets.
+ Oversee outside contract approvals and payments.
+ Post to the Chamber’s public and internal websites.
+ Track key policy developments and research priority issues.
+ Support policy staff with specific tasks, including special projects and new initiatives.
Qualifications:
+ College degree and 2-4 years of administrative or office management experience supporting a senior-level executive.
+ A basic understanding of tax, economic, and health policy.
+ Highly organized and detail oriented.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to exercise discretion.
+ Self-starter and problem solver.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team and meet deadlines.
+ Excellent writing, proofreading, editing, and verbal communication skills.
+ Outstanding customer service.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Familiarity with Salesforce; Concur or Microsoft Teams are helpful but not required.
The salary range for this position is $60,906.00 to $70,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
