Job Summary:
The Ski & Ride School Senior Manager is responsible for the overall guest experience within the Ski & Ride School. This is achieved by focusing on quality control of our products, financial management, teamwork, guest relations, employee development, creation and implementation of new programs and services, hiring, training, and leading the management team, handling administrative duties, and fulfilling personal development and job-specific responsibilities as defined by the Director.

Job Responsibilities:
+ Direct and monitor the quality of Ski & Ride School products and staff to ensure an exceptional guest experience, alignment with resort and company goals, financial success, and the development of future products and programs.
+ Oversee financial management for all operations, including budget development and achieving financial contribution goals through internal controls and strategic product development.
+ Manage personnel, including hiring and professional growth of all staff, and lead operational and strategic planning for the school alongside the Director of Skier Services. Provide direct oversight of Supervisors, Product Managers, and Location Managers.
+ Collaborate with the other Senior Manager, Training Manager, and Director to achieve quality, financial, and safety goals for the Ski & Ride School.
+ Develop and implement an operations plan to manage the business to predetermined margins, factoring in revenue opportunities, labor margins, expense control, and guest experience quality.
+ Act as a leader of change, presenting and driving new initiatives cascaded from the company to the Ski & Ride School.
+ Stay current on guest and employee health and safety regulations, including MSDS standards, universal precautions, child abuse guidelines, temporary background checks, emergency evacuation, and lightning procedures.
+ Actively seek information about industry trends, competitors, and events, and remain engaged with professional organizations (e.g., ISIA, PSIA/AASI).
+ Monitor and maintain the quality and appearance of facilities, including on-mountain and base area buildings, sales locations, organizational yards, signage and program imaging, teaching terrain, and locker rooms. Perform other duties as assigned.
+ Proactively contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives by participating in selected projects that drive company-wide results.
+ Represent Vail Resorts within the local community as needed.
Job Requirements:
+ 5+ years in a Ski & Ride School management role with full budget accountability, staff development, and external relationship management
+ PSIA/AASI Level II Certification
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to present data in a compelling, narrative form
+ Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
+ Previous experience as a Ski School Manager
+ 5+ years as a ski or snowboard instructor
+ Current PSIA/AASI Level III Certification or higher
+ College degree in a related field
+ Experience with PeopleSoft, ProConnect, and GuestConnect
The expected pay range is $80,000 - $91,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
