Summary
Perform underwriting and loan fulfillment support during non-traditional bank hours, evenings, and weekends. Associate will be trained as an underwriter, have access and approval authority to satisfy stipulations and approve/decline loans and have familiarity with resolving document or funding issues. They would primarily support certain consumer loan programs but would be knowledgeable and able to provide support on other consumer credit products. Work directly with other Associates to solve problems and create better workflow between the consumer loan department, retail branches and online clients.
THIS ROLE IS PART TIME WORKING 34 HOURS PER WEEK WITH THE SCHEDULE BELOW
Sunday Off
Monday 4pm to 9pm
Tuesday 4pm to 9pm
Wednesday 4pm to 9pm
Thursday 4pm to 9pm
Friday 3pm to 9pm
Saturday 8am to 5pm
Responsibilities
+ Using the appropriate platform for the specific product, underwrite quality Unsecured Consumer Loans and Secured Credit Cards, within approval authority, that meet or exceed Bank guidelines set forth by the product guide.
+ Work with branches and online clients to answer questions and solve consumer loan issues.
+ Monitoring queue for real-time communication to approved new clients regarding stips.
+ Monitoring all approved not funded with stips for clients to submit documents that enable the clearing of stips.
+ Engagement on outbound approved not booked follow-up calls and emails to facilitate timely loan closings.
+ Review of Tier 3 or 4 declines for possible Starter Loan and outbound client contact related to the same.
+ Monitor unsecured pending loans to clear review policies for final credit decisions.
+ Demonstrate proficiency in key systems, including DecisionLender 4 and DecisionPro.
+ Complete knowledge of product guide and underwriting guidelines.
+ Complete knowledge of consumer loan products, rates, and regulations.
+ Calling on solicitation lists to current clients as Access Loan candidates.
+ Calling on declined Access loan clients for possible Career Builder applications.
+ Conducted targeted quality assurance reviews, as assigned, of identified populations of applications.
+ Assist in the timely and accurate resolution of credit bureau disputes.
+ Understand, communicate, and instill the Company’s mission, vision, and values (Pillars of Success).
+ Complete monthly training in a timely manner to ensure knowledge of bank regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
+ Working at the worksite during regular business hours and/or assigned hours.
+ Other specified duties as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits
The Consumer Underwriter I position pays a minimum of $21.00 per hour.

Skills
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately.
+ Ability to organize work.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, required.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Education & Experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent, required.
+ Three to five years consumer loan underwriting experience, required.
+ An understanding of Federal banking regulations with experience in analyzing and documenting detailed financial data.
+ Proficiency in the use of DecisionLender 4 and/or DecisionPro, preferred.
Physical Requirements
The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting. The position is sedentary, involving sitting most of the workday; however, the position will involve moving about the workspace to reach entrances/exits, restrooms, conference rooms, or other areas within the work environment. Reaching may be required involving the ability to move arms in any direction. Office equipment, such as a computer and telephone, will be used requiring the ability to manipulate a keyboard, mouse, and/or keypad. The ability to decipher a computer screen or written documents is necessary. The ability to express or exchange ideas; impart information to clients, coworkers, or the public; or to convey detailed or important instructions; is required. The ability to receive and understand detailed information shared through oral or written communication is required. Position requires lifting and/or the exerting of up to 10 pounds of force.
