Job Description:
*Highland Hospital is seeking a Director of Pharmacy for Clinical Services! This phenomenal opportunity is available @ Highland Hospital for the first time in over 30 years. We're looking for a dynamic leader with energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for leading a team.
Some duties include but are not limited to:
The Director of Pharmacy for Clinical Services will provide clinical leadership for the Department of Pharmacy at HH which will result in the development, implementation, and expansion of clinical pharmacy services at HH. This individual will: maintain standards set by the department, institution, and regulatory agencies in the establishment and leadership of high quality clinical services to contribute to optimal patient outcomes; be actively involved in formulary management and therapeutic program proposals to contribute to the cost-effective and optimal use of therapeutic agents at both Highland Hospital and in collaboration with other Clinical Pharmacy leadership across the URMC system; provide drug information services and education for pharmacy and patient care services staff; be responsible for guiding clinical pharmacy services throughout the hospital including participation on multi-disciplinary committees; will contribute to the creation of hospital-wide clinical pathways, protocols, education and quality assurance functions; maintain competencies in both clinical and leadership skills and methods necessary to provide the coaching, mentoring, training and leadership functions as outlined in the essential duties listed below; and develop a model clinical pharmacy practices that will incorporate appropriate metrics to demonstrate the value of the service.
Work collaboratively with the Highland Hospital Director of Pharmacy Operations in managing human resources (HR) to ensure quality services and promote positive employee relations.
+ Establish partnerships and collaborations with clinical and administrative leaders throughout the organization to establish programs and processes aimed at delivering cost-effective and safe drug therapy.
+ Mentor, educate and train pharmacy staff, residents, physicians, nursing staff and other health professionals related to the safe and effective use of drug therapy.
+ In collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy Operations and the designated Residency Program Director, oversee the HH PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program and ensure compliance with American Society of Health System Pharmacists standards for residency accreditation.
+ Plan, develop and implement clinical pharmacy services focused on strategic initiatives established for HH and URMC. These plans will include strategies for implementation and maintenance of the service, metrics to measure the clinical and economic impact of the program, and a reporting structure focused on process and outcomes.
+ In collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy Operations, develop an effective plan to integrate operational and clinical activities of the pharmacy staff to establish efficient and effective strategies to achieve departmental and system objectives.
+ Develop or expand, in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy Operations, a data collection and reporting process that tracks multiple clinical and operational processes and outcomes (financial, clinical, workload, etc) to be used as tools to track and report departmental activities.
+ Works with the Director of Pharmacy Operations and other clinical leaders in the institution to assure that the drug use process at HH is in compliance with Joint Commission standards and state/federal regulations.
Salary Range:
$158,000.00 - $232,688.00 annually
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._

Job Requirements:
1. Education:Graduate of an ACPE accredited pharmacy program. .Pharm.D. or other advanced degree preferred (e.g., Master of Science,). Completion of post-graduate residency training or equivalent clinical experience required.
2. Experience: Minimum of three years of advanced clinical practice experience. Evidence of demonstrated clinical leadership experience preferred
3. License/Certification Required: NYS Pharmacy license and registration required Board certification in specialty practice area preferred.
4. Skills:
+ Advanced clinical pharmacy practice skills as demonstrated by traning and experience.
+ An ability to teach and demonstrate complex clinical and scientific material to a heterogeneous mixture of health care professionals at a comprehensible and practical level.
+ Demonstrated ability to gather and utilize data to drive quality and process improvement.
+ An ability to lead people to achieve established clinical and operational objectives.
