Indirect Private Real Estate (“Indirect RE”) is a division of CBRE Investment Management dedicated to investments with leading operating partners executed through programmatic and joint ventures, secondaries, co-investments and private funds. Indirect RE operates globally and has a current AUM of $44.8bn with a strong growth trajectory. Indirect RE manages private commingled funds and separate accounts on behalf of leading institutional investors and clients across the globe.
Indirect RE is led by a senior management team that average of over 14 years at CBRE IM. The team has 114 staff operating globally across 9 offices - London (HQ), Amsterdam, Boston, Los Angeles, Luxembourg, Seattle, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.
About the Role:
Indirect RE is seeking a highly-motivated Associate to join as a member of the America’s Regional Investment Team ("RIT"), a lean, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial team working collaboratively on the execution of investments within the Region. The Associate role supports the Investment Management function in sourcing and assessing new opportunities; conducting due diligence of transactions; preparation of investment recommendations; asset management of existing investments; client reporting; and mentorship of junior team members.
What You’ll Do:
Acquisitions:
+ Performs initial review of new investments to assess suitability with available capital and preferred RIT investment themes, and underwrites new investment opportunities across a variety of structures, including programmatic and joint ventures, secondaries, co-investments and private funds, across all sectors in the Americas
+ Completes all preliminary financial review independently
+ Performs due diligence of new investment opportunities, including market research, operating partner due diligence, vehicle legal and tax structuring, financing review, and coordination of external advisors for asset, legal, and tax due diligence, making recommendations on actions needed throughout the process
+ Prepares and presents investment recommendations throughout the investment process
+ Presents qualified opportunities to the Indirect Global Investment Team and Investment Committee
Asset Management/Reporting:
+ Leads asset management for several existing investments, including operating and business plan oversight, analysis and recommendation for major decisions and corporate actions, operating partner oversight, client reporting, and compliance with the Indirect Investment Guidelines
+ Leads the semi-annual performance reforecasts and annual investment review notes, including hold/sell analyses
+ Manages and oversees data collection and ensures validity of inputs into internal systems
+ Collaborates with the Global Portfolio Management team to ensure up-to-date client requirements and supports the PM team on quarterly reporting and ad-hoc requests
Mentorship:
+ Coaches junior team members to develop skills and competencies
+ Lead training for new analysts to ensure comprehensive understanding of role and responsibilities
+ Lead by example and model's behaviors consistent with the company's core values
What You'll Need:
+ 5+ years of relevant industry experience in a real estate investment or real estate acquisition, asset management, investment or investment management environment
+ Strong financial real estate modelling skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel (working knowledge of Argus Enterprise is a plus)
+ Ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met:
+ Accurate under time pressure and exceptional attention to detail
+ Enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team with good interpersonal skills
+ Understands and appreciates the importance of using discretion
+ Flexible approach to work and willingness/ability to travel
+ Experience and understanding of a broad range of real estate sectors is preferred
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
+ Self starter, with strong work ethic and ambition
+ Passion for real estate and/or real estate investing
+ Familiarity with secondary investment execution, specifically in GP-led secondaries, is preferred.

CBRE Investment Management carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $120,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $140,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE IM’s applicable benefit program.
