    Summary:

    Information Technology Services is a team of dedicated professionals providing core technology and cybersecurity services to agencies statewide, enabling state employees to serve Idaho's citizens. We sincerely hope you will consider being part of our success!

     

    Information Technology Services (ITS) currently has an opening for anIT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer IIIin our Chinden office in Boise as part of the System and Cloud Administration Team.

     

    This position will manage a wide range of essential IT infrastructure and services across various domains and tenants. Responsibilities encompass managing traditional on premise components like Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Servers, alongside cloud services such as Entra ID, AWS, and M365. This position is also responsible for critical functions like email administration, DNS/Infoblox, Certificates/PKI, server patch management, and providing Tier 3 break/fix support.

     

    Please note: The successful candidates will be required to pass multiple, comprehensive fingerprint-based background checks specific to the agencies ITS supports.

    Example of Duties:

    + Provides hands-on systems administration and management of advanced enterprise class server infrastructure in support of a diverse customer base on a 24/7/365 basis;

    + Provides direct customer support for problem resolution and escalation;

    + Conducts complete diagnosis of most technology problems, factoring in an understanding of the technical architecture;

    + Participates in design, and contributes to technical insights and ideas;

    + Anticipates implementation obstacles and develops plans to address them;

    + Analyzes cross-technology and cross-platform issues;

    + Provides input into the technology plan for the organization and ensures that plans are integrated effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure;

    + May provide consulting services to project teams on areas of expertise;

    + Supports multiple projects concurrently, including new projects or projects related to current processes;

    + Coordinates the hands-on work needed to achieve project objectives in the field;

    + Technical writing to develop user manuals and IT support documentation;

    + Follows proper change management policies and procedures when needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Considerable knowledge of current information technology trends and capabilities.

     

    Typically gained by a bachelor's degree directly related to information technology OR at least four years of work experience in information technology. Education and experience must be within the last five years.

     

    + Experience planning, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting network, server, or storage systems.

     

    Typically met by at least four years of full-time work experience where planning, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network, server or storage systems was part of the primary job responsibilities.

     

    + Resolving network or server problems.

     

    Typically met by at least four years of full-time work experience (within the last five years) where resolving network or server problems was part of the primary responsibilities.

     

    + Working with end users to develop and implement information technology solutions for user computing needs in a business environment.

     

    Typically gained by at least four years of full-time work experience where interviewing and consulting with clients/users to develop and implement solutions to meet computing requirements in a business environment was part of the primary responsibilities.

     

    + Experience as a technical lead implementing or supporting network, server, or storage systems.

     

    Typically gained by at least four years of full-time job experience where work as a technical lead implementing or supporting network, server or storage systems was part of the primary job responsibilities.
