EHS Specialist (Industrial Safety/ Industrial Manufacturing)

Job Description

This is a full-time Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist position that involves working 40 hours per week. The role involves supporting a leading energy company located in Wilmington, NC, in maintaining EHS projects and assisting in achieving operational excellence. The position requires on-site presence at the Wilmington, NC location, as operations expand and regulatory expectations increase.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with day-to-day EHS activities, safety inspections, and recordkeeping.

+ Support incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and safety program initiatives.

+ Provide coverage during peak project periods or project start-ups.

+ Conduct pre-job briefs and EHS observations.

Essential Skills

+ EHS experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

+ Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.

+ Ability to conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety observations.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging employees at all levels.

+ Strong organizational skills for managing records, reports, and compliance documentation.

+ Ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

+ Demonstrated commitment to fostering a strong safety culture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline.

+ 3-5 years of experience in an industrial safety environment.

+ OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing environment. The role includes working with vendors supporting retrofitting efforts for a new building area. The candidate will operate both in a construction setting, during interior remodeling, and on the manufacturing floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
