Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Description

Join a leading chemical manufacturer known for its innovative rubber additives, chlorine tablets, and oil additives. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing projects, enhancing safety, and driving sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

+ Lead project management through the Front-End Loading (FEL) process, preparing necessary documentation and defining project scopes with departmental engineers.

+ Coordinate and hold meetings with internal stakeholders, including purchasing, department heads, engineers, safety, and environmental teams.

+ Manage and oversee various projects such as pump replacements, valve updates, and generator projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

+ Facilitate collaboration with third-party contractors and engineering design firms to achieve project objectives.

+ Present project documentation and updates to stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals for projects ranging from $50k to $200k.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

+ 2-5 years of project management experience with similar project spends.

+ Strong in chemical manufacturing and understanding of working with various chemicals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with hazardous chemicals is advantageous.

+ Familiarity with the oil and gas industry is beneficial.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based in a corporate office, with regular visits to the plant and various substations on campus. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and networking. The job involves significant customer interaction and collaboration with internal teams, providing a versatile and engaging work experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Sauget, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
