Job Title: QC Technician
Job Description
The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring product and raw material quality by using wet chemical and instrumental methods to analyze samples. The technician interprets results and recommends adjustments to optimize product conformance to specifications. Additionally, the role involves analyzing SPC and SQC data for process improvements and maintaining quality records in support of the ISO 9000 program.
Responsibilities
+ Perform wet analysis or instrumental analysis of samples.
+ Log and report data accurately.
+ Conduct statistical reporting and analysis.
+ Maintain lab and equipment in optimal working condition.
+ Calibrate lab equipment regularly.
+ Collect samples from manufacturing process batches and conduct quality control testing in the labs.
+ Enter quality data into SAP efficiently to ensure minimal interruption in processing flow.
+ Act as a supervisor when required and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in wet chemistry and instrumental analysis.
+ Experience in quality control and laboratory settings.
+ Knowledge of chemical properties and hazards.
+ Ability to keep the lab clean and orderly to maximize safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related field, or an Associate's Degree with 1+ year of chemistry lab experience in the industry.
+ HPLC or Chromatography experience is a plus.
Work Environment
The role involves working on a specific shift, with a rotating schedule that changes once per month after an initial training period of 4-5 weeks. Training hours are from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Post-training shifts rotate weekly as follows: week one from 7 AM to 3 PM, week two from 3 PM to 11 PM, and week three from 11 PM to 7 AM. The work environment is a small production facility with 35-40 employees, fostering a small family feel that requires team buy-in and flexibility. Emphasis is placed on safety, providing a safe and clean work environment. The labs are older and typical of chemical processing plant labs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
