    Job Title: Senior Project Accountant Job Description

     

    The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely entry and reporting of data within the company's financial systems. This role involves managing accounts receivable, subcontract management, payroll, equipment entry, accounts payable, and month-end key financial reporting and analysis. The position requires effective communication with management and project teams to ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and completeness, while helping to leverage data to enhance business performance.

    Responsibilities

    + Analyze project costs and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

    + Implement and maintain cost control systems to ensure projects stay within budget.

    + Comprehend and communicate key commercial terms of project contracts to all relevant parties.

    + Effectively report project financials and interpretations to leadership for decision-making.

    + Contribute to the development and implementation of collective agreements affecting project costs.

    + Collect and submit necessary documentation for invoicing.

    + Prepare and submit Letters of Engagement/Monthly Invoices to clients in accordance with the terms.

    + Gather third-party invoices to support accurate and timely client billing.

    + Prepare and submit monthly equipment rental billings, progress invoices, and manage holdback releases.

    + Process and reconcile electronic billing submissions, ensuring alignment with client billing systems.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

    + Post-secondary business degree.

    + Experience within commercial construction, Telecom or a related industry is preferred.

    + Knowledge of large ERP systems is preferred.

    + Working knowledge of construction methods.

    + Financial acumen regarding equipment utilization, rates, equipment capital decisions, and profitability analysis.

    + Working knowledge of construction accounting principles.

    + Working knowledge of construction software systems.

    + Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + General ledger and reconciliation experience in construction.

    This is a fully remote position in a growing construction company in North America, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
