    About this role

    Administrative Tasks:

    + Data & System Management: Maintains and verifies data in Cartegraph, manages queues, closes work orders, and generates reports related to Traffic Operations.

    + Administrative Support: Performs general office tasks such as copying, filing, mail distribution, typing, and data entry.

    + Procurement & Budgeting: Obtains estimates, prepares budget requests, manages office purchases as a P-Card holder, and supports procurement processes.

    + Inventory & Materials Handling: Prepares material requests (pik paks), identifies and inventories parts, and maintains related spreadsheets.

    + Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Coordinates repairs and shipments with vendors, handles shipping logistics, and prepares work orders for contractors.

    Traffic Count Program:

    + Traffic Data Collection & Analysis: Collects data for special traffic studies (e.g., TAC, school crossings) and supports the annual traffic count program by reviewing contractor data for quality control and MS2 uploads.

    + Contractor Coordination: Serves as a liaison between contractors and Traffic Engineering, ensuring clear communication and accurate task execution.

    + CIP Project Support: Creates work orders for CIP-related tasks and assists with purchasing, receiving, and storing traffic equipment for projects.

     

    Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

     

    About You

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or its equivalent.

    + Three (3) years or more of experience in the related field.

    + -OR- College or university-level training in an appropriate field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required related experience.

    + Valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.

    Preferred Qualification:

    + Knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

    + Knowledge of traffic counters and traffic count software (i.e. MS2, HDM).

    + Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Work, Microsoft PowerPoint, Work Management Systems (i.e. Cartegraph), e-mail communication software application, digital photography and downloading connection knowledge using Traffic Counters and a PC.

     

    Physical Demands: m ay occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

     

    Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

    Starting Pay Range: $21.85 - $22.50/ hour , based on experience
