    The Family Based Mental Health Services Program is considered the most intense outpatient service a client/family can receive. The Family Based Clinician I works on a team with a master level clinician, providing individual and family therapy, case management, crisis management and advocacy for families. It is truly the Swiss Army knife of mental health. Our office is located in the Franklin Building on the vibrant, Southside of Pittsburgh. Family Based clinicians provide services in the family's homes. The work schedule for this position is flexible/non-traditional hours, Monday through Friday, with weekend sessions held occasionally.

    This position is eligible for the Behavioral Health Fellows Program - an initiative sponsored by Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) in partnership with Community Care Behavioral Health and Jewish Healthcare Foundation. Designed to strengthen the County's public behavioral health system, this program offers incredible benefits, including up to $45,000 in educational loan repayment (based on your degree level), or free access to an accredited professional certificate program, as well as paid time off for training and professional development as a part of a cohort group.

    Responsibilities:

    * Treatment & Intervention: Attend all mandatory treatment team meetings and weekly supervision. Follow the individualized treatment plan developed with the child, family, and team. Deliver 1:1 behavioral intervention in various community settings to prevent more restrictive placements. Provide direct mental health services to children/adolescents at risk of crisis or hospitalization.

    * Family Support & Therapy: Support families using evidence-based approaches like Structural Family Therapy, CBT, and Parent Management Training. Assist parents and teachers in implementing behavioral programs. Deliver family and individual therapy, crisis prevention/intervention, and case management primarily in home/community settings.

    * Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and other professionals. Participate in interagency planning and coordinate case management with master-level clinicians. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respectful behavior toward clients and professionals.

    * Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records including clinical notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. Report changes in client functioning promptly to supervisors and the treatment team. Meet productivity standards (28 billable hours/week, 60% with master-level clinician).

    * Training & Development: Complete Family-Based Training Curriculum and attend staff development sessions as needed.

    * Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling required.

    o Bachelors in other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience.

    * 1 year of experience in a Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) working in family services, crisis intervention, parent management and behavioral intervention models required.

    * Experience working with children / adolescents with severe psychiatric illness including Autism Spectrum Disorder is preferred.

    * Knowledge of CASSP principles.

    * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

    * Ability to function effectively as part of a treatment team, work independently and demonstrate sound clinical judgment and ability to utilize and seek supervision.

    * Ability to develop effective working relationships with professional team, parents, schools, CYS and JPO systems.

    * May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored or may transport medications when they transport patients. Transportation of medication is limited from one department to another.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    * Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    * Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

    * Driver's License

    * Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

    * Act 33 with renewal

    * Act 34 with renewal

    * Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
