Job Title: School-Based Wellness Coach

Job Description:

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a compassionate and proactive Wellness Coach to support student well-being in a school-based setting. This role focuses on promoting mental, emotional, and physical health among students through direct support, education, and collaboration with school staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group coaching sessions to help students develop coping strategies, resilience, and healthy habits.

Support students in managing stress, anxiety, and social-emotional challenges.

Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to integrate wellness practices into the school culture.

Develop and lead wellness workshops, mindfulness activities, and wellness campaigns.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.

Refer students to appropriate mental health or social services when necessary.

Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or counseling settings.

Strong understanding of social-emotional learning (SEL) and trauma-informed practices.

Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and student populations.

Certification in wellness coaching, mental health first aid, or related areas is a plus.

The Certified Wellness Coach I (CWC) is a state-certifiedrole created by California’s Department of Health Access and Information aspart of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative. The Certified Wellness Coach I providesprevention and early intervention services to support the behavioral health andwell-being of children and youth.

Under the supervision of a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS)credentialed professional or licensed clinician, the Certified Wellness Coach Ican operate in schools, as well as in school-based and community-basedsettings. This role also offers a careerpath for those interested in supporting children and youth mental health,providing consistent training for entry-level employees, and allowing them towork in the field without needing a master’s degree.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Certified Wellness Coach I or Registered-Certified WellnessCoach I certification through the California Department of Health Care Accessand Information (HCAI) required

+ Associates degree or higher in a relevant field required

+ Prior experience working with children and youthrequired

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

+ Current CPR if applicable

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
