• Route Driver Helper / Laborer

    **Elko Sanitation** , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a _safety conscience_ **Laborer / Driver Helper** to join our team in **Elko, NV** .

    **Schedule:** **4 days/wk -** Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays off!

     

    Start time: 4:30am,** finishing when the route is complete. **(10-11 hours per day)

     

    **COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:** **$24.00+/hour** (DOE)

    **Must have a clean driving record, pass criminal background check, & 5 panel drug screening to be eligible for employment.**

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Lift customer cans to service on the back of the truck

    + Ability to read route Tablet/sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.

    + Perform Daily Pre-trip and Post-Trip DOT inspections on vehicles. Such as checking fluids, safety equipment, lights and tire pressure.

    + Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.

    + Assist multiple lines of business as needed such as container delivery, commercial, and residential service routes, bulk item pickup, and other areas as needed.

    + Operate non-cdl vehicles on designated routes

    + Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

    + Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 100 pounds.

    + Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route

    + Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.

    + The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

    Requirements:

    + **Valid driver’s license with Clean Driving Record** (MVR)

    + **Must pass Criminal background check**

    + **Must pass Drug screen**

    + Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws

    + Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English.
