    Compensation & Schedule

    + **Starting Pay:** $30.49/hour (91% of scale)

    + **Schedule:** Monday–Friday, occasional Saturdays as needed

    + **Hours:** Approximately 45 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities

    + Safely operate a rear-load garbage truck along designated routes

    + Collect refuse and recyclables according to route sheets

    + Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance

    + Operate hydraulic controls to lift and dispose of waste

    + Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers

    + Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling items over 100 lbs

    Working Conditions

    + Outdoor work in varying weather conditions

    + Exposure to mechanical parts, moderate noise, and occasional fumes

    + Frequent heavy lifting and adherence to strict safety protocols

    Minimum Requirements

    + Valid **Class B CDL** with air brake endorsement (Class A not required)

    + Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in waste management, trucking, or heavy equipment operation, and must not have held more than three jobs in the past five years.

    + Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

    + High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    + Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections

    + Must be able to pass a **criminal background check** , **motor vehicle record (MVR) review** , and **drug screening** , including testing for controlled substances

    + This is a **safety-sensitive position** under Washington State law; pre-employment THC testing is permitted
