    Job Summary

    The University of Michigan School of Social Work (SSW) seeks to develop a more equitable, caring, and socially just society that meets basic human needs, eliminates social and economic inequities, and empowers individuals, communities, and institutions to reach their potential.     Reporting to the Social Impact Leadership Program Director, the Program Manager provides comprehensive administrative management for the newly launched Social Impact Leadership master's degree program. This role collaborates closely with the MA Program Director, MA faculty leadership team, other units within SSW, and external community partners.

     

    The position focuses on day-to-day implementation and management of the MA in Social Impact Leadership, including program development, administrative management, communication, marketing, enrollment management, and student engagement.

    Responsibilities*

    In addition to other duties as assigned, responsibilities include:

    Program Management

    + Manage day-to-day operations of the MA in Social Impact Leadership (on-campus and online)

    + Coordinate all activities related to the new degree launch

    + Plan, develop, and implement program activities in collaboration with staff and faculty

    + Manage SSW Information System databases as needed

    + Support admissions processes and procedures with MA faculty program director and OSSEM

    + Handle program communications and collaborate with SSW Marketing Communications team

    + Partner to administer course logistics, including scheduling, catalog development, and permissions

    + Supervise temporary, work-study, and student assistant staff as needed

    Strategic Planning and Program Development

    + Collaborate on strategic direction with MA faculty program director and MA faculty

    + Analyze enrollment trends and assist with curricular planning

    + Implement improvements to enhance student experience and ensure best practices in pedagogy and administration

    + Conduct programmatic evaluations and interpret results to advance strategic goals

    + Develop partnership opportunities that expand program and course offerings

    + Engage in planning of recruitment and outreach efforts to grow enrollment and engagement

    + Build academic and co-curricular relationships within SSW and across university departments

    + Facilitate student advisory boards to align program goals with student needs

    Student Services and Community Building

    + Execute recruitment efforts, including information sessions, campus events, and marketing materials

    + Coordinate with Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management, Career Services, faculty, and other units for comprehensive student support

    + Connect students with academic and wellness resources across campus

    + Collaborate with MA faculty program director on academic and career-focused programming

    + Plan orientation and community-building events for on-campus and online students

    + Provide technical scheduling advice to students

    + Assist faculty with student progress and performance concerns

    Required Qualifications*

    + Master's degree and 5+ years of related experience

    + Proven track record of managing complex programs with multiple projects and stakeholders

    + Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all leadership levels and manage dynamic partnerships

    + Expertise with project management tools and software

    + Initiative, agility, independent judgment, diplomacy, and people-first attitude

    + Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including public speaking

    + Passion for social impact

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Master's degree in a Social Impact-aligned field

    + Experience with Learning Management Systems (Canvas)

    + Experience with data management systems (Filemaker)

    + Change management experience in academic settings

    + Higher education experience

    + Advanced skills in program development, marketing, strategic planning, organizational development, and problem-solving

    + Social media platform experience
