Job Summary
Seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees. Excellent service and teamwork is an expected and integral part of the Burlington Lower Level Physical Therapy Specialty Clinic culture.
We are currently seeking an experienced Physical Therapist who is skilled at evaluating and treating general orthopedic, non-neurologic falls and balance and oncology patients referred for ambulatory physical therapy services. The preferred candidate would have 3 years of oncology rehab and lymphedema management experience, along with an interest in geriatrics and/or osteoporosis education. The position will partner with a physical therapy assistant. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team required

Responsibilities*
+ Interpret referrals and ensure necessary precautions are identified so that appropriate physical therapy evaluation and treatment can be provided.
+ Develop focused individually designed treatment plans based on the patient?s functional goals.
+ Utilizes independent clinical decision making to progress patients and modify treatment depending upon the patient?s needs and medical status.
+ Monitor patients throughout the provision of treatment and respond appropriately to changes in patient status.
+ Instruct patients and their families in home treatment programs.
+ Maintain records of patient evaluation, treatment and discharge status.
+ May conduct research under the guidance of a Physical Therapy Director.
+ May conduct special projects contributing to teaching materials and procedures used in physical therapy.
+ Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
+ If licensed prior to 2016: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or basic MS
+ If licensed on or after 2016: Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT)
+ Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship
+ Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan
+ This position requires Primary Source Verification
+ Current CPR and First Aid Certification

+ A passion for rehab care- Taking patients the next steps to returning to independent functioning in home/work/community activities
+ A collaborative work style and positive attitude to add to our high performing multidisciplinary team
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills
+ Ability to be a collaborative team player
+ General orthopedic outpatient experience or internship program completion
+ Lymphedema certification and experience treating cancer related lymphedema
Work Schedule
The clinic is open Monday-Friday 7am to 6pm. This position is 40 hours per week, and will be expected to cover 2-3 closing shifts. 4-10 hour days are possible dependent on clinic needs and candidate preference.

Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
