The New York University School of Global Public Health is seeking a Research Coordinator to work directly with faculty researchers and a growing research team on two funded projects: (1) The Smart Parents Study, a five-year National Institutes of Health-funded study; and (2) Project Safe & Smart, a two-year project supported by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Both projects focus on the prevention of child sexual abuse.
The study will be an opportunity to apply and grow research and management experience, publish, and contribute to a project that will have a significant impact on improving the health and wellbeing of children and families.
The Research Coordinator position is a full time (35h/wk) appointment from September 2025 through July 31, 2026. The position may be extended based on performance and grant funding.
The Research Coordinator will be supervised by the PI and work closely with the Project Coordinator. Responsibilities for this position include assisting with day-to-day operations of the study including: site recruitment, facilitator training and certification, fidelity monitoring, IRBs, participant informed consent, data collection (e.g., survey distribution and conduct of interviews), data management, and incentive distribution. Other activities may and will arise as this is an applied research study.
Required education: Master’s Degree in public health, counseling, social work, higher education, or a related field.
Required Experience: 5+ years progressively responsible administrative and project management experience preferably in the prevention education or human services, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Experience: Familiarity with data collection, data management (i.e., REDCap), and technical assistance in an applied context.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy and great sense of time management with a passion for team-oriented projects. Collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with a diverse population. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; a self-starter. Ability to exercise the highest discretion and professionalism while working with senior officials and sensitive data. Experience with IRB and human subjects’ protocols and procedures. Advanced knowledge of standard office software, especially Excel and Google Sheets. Advanced skills in design software such as Adobe PhotoShop or Canva.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information. Ability to plan and deliver prevention education programs. Advanced knowledge and skills in statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R) and REDCap.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $50,000- $68,000.
