    **Job Title:** Receiving Clerk / Material Handler – 1st Shift

    **Schedule:** 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday–Friday)

    **Location:** Farmington, CT

    **Reports To:** Internal Logistics Supervisor

    **Pay Rate:** $19.00/hour

    Position Summary

    The Receiving Clerk / Material Handler supports material flow and logistics operations across 2 different campuses. This role is responsible for transporting materials between buildings and external partners, unloading inbound shipments, processing goods receipts, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of parts to production areas. The position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring workplace organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Operate company campus truck to transport materials between facilities and Walker Crane Rigging; maintain an accurate, timely delivery schedule.

    + Load and unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently.

    + Support receiving functions, including unloading, checking paperwork, preparing building labels, and processing goods receipts in SAP.

    + Pull and deliver parts to assembly areas using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts.

    + Record stock transactions (receiving, issuing, adjustments) in SAP using PCs or barcode scanners.

    + Count, unpack, and stock parts; maintain accurate inventory control.

    + Deliver transport carts and materials to work centers in a safe, efficient manner.

    + Implement and sustain 5S workplace organization standards in all storage areas.

    + Work independently with minimal supervision, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.

    + Perform other duties as assigned in support of logistics and production operations.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

     

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling preferred.

    + Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems strongly preferred.

    + Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

    + Experience driving a 20,000 lbs. truck preferred.

     

    Skills & Requirements

     

    + Valid Connecticut driver’s license required.

    + Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication ability.

    + Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly without assistance.

    + Capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods of time on concrete floors.

    + Demonstrated reliability and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Work Environment

     

    + Primarily warehouse and production floor setting.

    + Requires frequent lifting, bending, and standing.

    + Regular operation of trucks, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
