    What will I do as an HR Business Partner (HRBP)?

     

    + Serve as the HR partner to assigned business leaders and their teams, advising on personnel practices, HR policies, and employment laws—with a focus on California wage and hour, meal/rest break, leave, and pay transparency requirements.

    + Act as a communication conduit between store management, District Managers, and HR Operations to ensure alignment on HR policy and legal compliance across multiple states, with an emphasis on California.

    + Partner with leadership on employee relations matters, including coaching, performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

    + Conduct employee relations investigations in a fair, thorough, and timely manner, and participate in corrective action meetings as needed.

    + Research, interpret, and explain employment laws and HR best practices to managers and employees; collaborate with legal counsel as appropriate to mitigate risk.

    + Provide end-to-end HR support, including organizational development, talent management, training, employee engagement, and succession planning.

    + Support HR programs and processes such as total rewards, staffing, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

    + Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

    You’ll be a great fit if you have:

    + A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, plus 3+ years of HR experience; or at least 5 years of progressive HR experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Demonstrated knowledge of California employment law and experience supporting managers and employees in California, including compliance with wage and hour rules, meal/rest break requirements, CFRA/FMLA, ADA/FEHA accommodations, and harassment prevention.

    + 2+ years of experience handling employee relations issues such as investigations, corrective actions, and workplace conflict.

    + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, influence, and partner with all levels of the organization.

    + Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a history of developing and sharing best practices.

    + Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

    + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

    + A self-starter attitude and demonstrated leadership skills.

    + Willingness to travel within assigned areas.

    Physical Environment:

    This position involves sedentary work in a professional, office setting while exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Also includes activities such as occasional bending or reaching.
