Our Tech team will reveal the latest innovators and innovations that will shape the nation’s future._

As part of this bold expansion into Los Angeles, we are looking for an **Enterprise Tech Reporter** to join the California Post team.
Reporting into the Specialist Editor, this reporter will go beyond product launches and press releases, digging into the forces shaping California’s most powerful industry. From big tech companies to startups, this role will focus on game changing exclusive stories that set the agenda and shine a light on the companies and leaders changing the world, now and in the future.
We are looking for a reporter who does not just follow tech trends but gets out in front of them. Someone who can break news, has top tier sources, and bring fresh insight into the companies and people transforming how we work, live, and connect.

Responsibilities:
+ Develop and report original enterprise stories on major tech firms, startups, defence companies, venture capital and AI, to reveal first what they are doing and how it affects the world
+ Build and maintain a wide network of sources in Silicon Valley and beyond from start ups to global players, experts and industry groups.
+ Analyze financial disclosures, regulatory filings, and datasets to uncover hidden trends and stories.
+ Break exclusive stories and bring fresh, distinctive angles to widely covered news and tell deeply engaging stories.
+ Use FOIA requests, court filings, and public records to surface accountability-driven reporting.
+ Collaborate with editors, data journalists, and visual teams to package enterprise tech stories with depth and clarity.
+ Track emerging trends across artificial intelligence, consumer tech, venture capital, and social platforms and defence providing context and analysis.
+ Leverage social media and digital tools for reporting, sourcing, and promoting investigative work.
Requirements:
+ At least 8 years of reporting experience, with a strong focus on technology, business and investigative journalism.
+ Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets, filings, or technical information, and translate them into compelling stories.
+ Deep familiarity with public records research, FOIA requests, and accountability reporting tools.
+ Strong network of sources in the tech industry and defence industries in California..
+ Excellent editorial judgment, accuracy, and attention to detail under deadline pressure.
+ Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS; familiarity with analytics dashboards and data visualization tools is strongly preferred.
+ Strong writing and reporting skills are the core of this role as is distilling complex issues into compelling content.
+ On-camera experience is strongly preferred, as we’re looking for reporters who are comfortable discussing and presenting their stories on video to help extend our journalism across digital and social platforms.
+ A strong social media presence or following is a plus.
+ Flexibility to work in a fast-paced news environment and adjust to breaking developments while pursuing long-term projects.
_Note: This position is open to candidates located in San Francisco or Los Angeles. Candidates based in Los Angeles will be expected to report to our Los Angeles office._

Pay Range: $100,000 - $140,000
