    Geotechnical Engineer (PE) – Orange County, CA

    Position Overview

    A growing geotechnical team in Orange County is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to lead technical operations, mentor junior staff, and support business development. This strategic leadership role replaces a dual-function Principal CEG/GE and offers high visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape the future of the office.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead the geotechnical group, providing technical direction and oversight.

    + Mentor junior engineers and geologists, fostering growth and development.

    + Manage geotechnical projects from proposal through delivery, including field investigations, analysis, and reporting.

    + Review concrete and steel submittals, special inspection reports, and materials testing documentation.

    + Conduct job site visits, troubleshoot field issues, and ensure quality control.

    + Write and review technical reports with clarity and precision.

    + Engage in client-facing activities including meetings, presentations, and relationship building.

    + Support business development efforts as a “seller-doer,” contributing to proposals and strategic growth initiatives.

    + Collaborate across disciplines, wearing multiple hats to support office-wide success.

    Qualifications

    + Professional Engineer (PE) license in California – required.

    + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

    + Experience: 5–10 years of geotechnical engineering experience preferred.

    + Experience in materials testing and inspection (concrete, steel, soils).

    + Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects independently.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Experience with client interaction and business development.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

    Compensation

    + Salary Range: $130,000 – $165,000 annually

    + Bonus: Performance-based bonus may be considered

    + Start Date: Targeting August 17, 2025
