    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our pediatric neurology department. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with pediatric patients and contributing to the smooth operation of a team that supports eight exam rooms and manages a high patient volume. This role requires a balance of both front and back office responsibilities, ensuring efficient patient check-in, rooming, and check-out processes. #stlsci

    Responsibilities

    + Float between front and back office duties, including patient check-in, rooming, and check-out.

    + Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring they are ready for patient use.

    + Prepare patient charts and obtain necessary reports and records.

    + Direct patient flow to ensure the clinical office operates smoothly.

    + Interact directly with patients in a clinic setting, performing tasks such as obtaining vital signs and conducting EKGs.

    + Verify patient medications and prepare for office hours by scheduling tests and preparing exam rooms.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

    + Certification as a Medical Assistant.

    + Experience with EPIC software.

    + Experience working in pediatrics.

    + BLS certification.

    + Strong communication skills and ability to work well with different personalities.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Tenure in previous roles is highly valued.

    + Ability to maintain good attendance and reliability.

    Work Environment

    This position operates within a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. The work environment involves supporting a patient volume that can reach up to 130 on busy days and around 35 on slower days.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
