    Quality Control Technician

    Job Description

    The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for testing and approving raw materials and manufactured products to ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer specifications. This role involves performing inspections throughout the production process and analyzing statistical data to maintain product quality.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct quality control tests on raw materials and finished products per established guidelines.

    + Perform First Piece Inspections and in-process audits.

    + Collect samples for analytical testing (raw material, validation, in-process, finished product).

    + Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.

    + Support environmental monitoring and cleaning verification/validation.

    + Participate in OOS investigations and corrective actions.

    + Maintain lab inventory and ensure cleanliness and biohazard removal.

    + Follow health and safety protocols.

    + Assist production, R&D, and engineering teams.

    + Support product development studies and validations.

    + Coordinate external lab sample testing.

    + Perform other QC duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Technical knowledge of analytical and QC test methods, chemical/reagent handling, food safety, pharmacopeia, and regulatory standards.

    + Mathematical proficiency in fractions, ratios, and proportions.

    + Strong laboratory skills with safe lab procedures.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Attention to detail and inventory management.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and other software.

    + Ability to work independently and multitask.

    + Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High School Diploma or GED (required).

    + Associate degree (preferred).

    + Laboratory experience (preferred), including pipetting, measuring, and caliper use.

    Work Environment

    The role requires regular sitting, walking, and standing, with frequent use of hands for writing and keyboarding. Occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs), bending, squatting, and reaching are also necessary. Visual acuity and acute hearing are required for communication and document review. The work environment is a combination of office and plant settings, with exposure to moderate noise, chemicals, dust, heat/cold, and allergens. The work schedule is from 4pm to 4am, Monday through Thursday, with overtime as needed. The goal is to move to an 8-hour shift from 10pm to 6am, 5 days a week once the team is built out.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.50/hr.
