    Job Title: Site Safety Specialist Job Description

     

    The Site Safety Specialist will implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures, conduct field safety inspections, and assist with digital documentation using platforms like HammerTech. This role is essential in monitoring contractor activities during equipment installation, piping, welding, and electrical work, and involves assisting with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions. The specialist will also provide safety orientation and training for site personnel, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Arrive approximately 30 minutes before the first shift to review precast plans and sign off on any high-risk activity permits before work begins.

    + Ensure crews are set up and ready to start safely and efficiently.

    + Actively walk the site to review pre-task plans and provide real-time safety guidance, maintaining a strong field presence.

    + Ensure all permits are properly closed out before the end of the shift.

    + Serve as the last safety representative to leave the site, confirming all safety documentation and activities are complete.

    Essential Skills

    + OSHA 30 certification

    + 4-5 years of site safety or field safety experience in food and beverage facility construction or industrial construction.

    + Knowledge of process equipment installation, MEP, safety training, safety procedures, and compliance.

    + Experience with digital safety platforms like HammerTech.

    + Strong understanding of construction safety practices.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Certifications above OSHA 30 are required; NCCER or ACSP certifications are preferred.

    + Excellent communication and organizational skills.

    + Ability to manage both administrative and field safety tasks.

    Work Environment

    This role requires 100% on-site presence in Jefferson, WI, with working hours typically 6 days a week, 8-10 hour days. The position is a 2nd/mid-shift role, generally from 4 PM to 12 AM, depending on construction demands. It is needed for a duration of 6 months to 3 years, contingent on the night shift schedule and project demands. The current phase involves moving from building shell completion to equipment installation.

    This is a Contract position based out of Jefferson, Wisconsin.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.48 - $52.88/hr.
