Job Title: Corporate Safety Director
Job Description
Join a dynamic team in the food manufacturing industry as a Corporate Safety Director. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of safety across 11 manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety strategies that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate safety strategy that aligns with business objectives.
+ Design, implement, and maintain effective safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Hazard Communication (HazCom), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Emergency Action Plans, Accident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis, and Ergonomics.
+ Ensure all facilities comply with OSHA, FDA, and other relevant safety regulations.
+ Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
+ Create and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees at all levels.
+ Lead and oversee incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
+ Develop and track key safety performance indicators (KPIs) and report on safety performance to leadership.
+ Partner with operations, HR, engineering, and other departments to integrate safety into all business aspects.
+ Manage the corporate safety budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
+ Champion a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and updating safety programs.
Essential Skills
+ Proven ability to manage multiple people in a safety capacity with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
+ Strong knowledge and experience with OSHA compliance, including audits and safety regulations.
+ Experience in conducting root cause analyses and implementing continuous improvement plans.
+ Experience in safety management within a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
+ Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are beneficial.
+ Ability to blend into the organization and manage teams effectively.
Work Environment
The position involves a 50/50 split between the corporate office and local manufacturing plants. Travel is limited to within a few hours' drive, with occasional trips to other facilities. The work environment is collaborative and safety-focused, with opportunities for career advancement.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Chester, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
