    Substation (Physical) Engineer

    About the Role

    Actalent is seeking a talented Substation Physical Engineer to join our expanding Power Delivery team in the Southeast. In this role, you’ll support substation design projects for major utility clients including Duke Energy and Florida Power & Light (FPL). You’ll contribute to the Physical adesign efforts and be responsible for assigned deliverables across multiple projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Execute engineering tasks of varying complexity under the direction of a Lead Project Engineer or Project Manager.

    + Conduct electrical design analyses and assist in preparing specifications and cost estimates.

    + Perform routine engineering assignments with clearly defined objectives.

    + Support small-scale projects independently or assist sr engineers on larger initiatives.

    + Collaborate with EITs, technicians, and other engineering staff.

    + Perform additional duties as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

    + Minimum 3 years of substation design experience (Physical).

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electrical design software.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + PE license or actively pursuing EIT certification.

    + Experience in power system analysis, electrical system planning, and protective device application.

    + Familiarity with control system applications.

    + Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, ETAP, MicroStation, Inventor, and SDS.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
