    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to take on a pivotal role within our client's organization in Knoxville, Tennessee. As part of this Contract-to-permanent opportunity, you will oversee both accounting and human resources functions, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance. This position combines hands-on management responsibilities with strategic oversight, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage full-cycle human resources processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of employees.

    • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and regulations to maintain a legally sound HR framework.

    • Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, wage reporting, and collaboration with accounting.

    • Foster positive employee relations by mediating conflicts and guiding supervisors in implementing HR best practices.

    • Administer benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and act as a liaison with providers.

    • Maintain general ledger operations, including accounts payable/receivable, monthly reconciliations, and financial reporting using QuickBooks.

    • Assist with cash flow management, budgeting, and variance analysis to support organizational growth.

    • Prepare quarterly and year-end financial reports, audits, and tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

    • Implement process improvements to enhance internal controls and streamline accounting and HR workflows.

    • Track employee certifications, training programs, and performance evaluations to ensure development and compliance.

    Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

     

    • At least 5 years of progressive experience in both accounting and HR management roles within small-to-mid-sized businesses.

    • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical capabilities.

    • Solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance standards.

    • Preferred certifications such as CPA, SHRM-CP, PHR, or bookkeeping credentials.

    • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential information.

    • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to solving complex challenges.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
