Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Hawthorne, New York. This part-time role, requiring 20 hours per week, is a Contract-to-permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to accounting operations and grow within the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NetSuite and a strong understanding of corporate tax, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Record business transactions by posting and processing journal entries accurately.

• Verify and process invoices, ensuring expenses are approved and supported by proper documentation.

• Oversee accounts payable while completing bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly financial statements and support the month-end close process.

• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and databases.

• Review and adjust journal entries to ensure accuracy in the general ledger.

• Handle corporate tax filings and sales tax compliance.

• Monitor and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Requirements • Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting tasks.

• Strong experience with corporate tax and sales tax processes.

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries, including month-end adjustments.

• Skilled in performing bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation.

• Knowledge of corporate tax returns and compliance requirements.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage part-time hours effectively.
