    Position OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our team and provide expert nutrition care to patients in a supportive healthcare environment. This role is responsible for assessing nutritional needs, developing care plans, and educating patients and families on dietary strategies that support health and recovery. The Clinical Dietitian collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.

     

    Ideal candidates will have a strong background in clinical nutrition, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through evidence-based dietary interventions.     $25.74 - $38.61 per hour, depending on experience

    Job Responsibilities

    + Identifies or screens patients or residents at nutritional risk using evidence-based criteria, as ordered or requested

    + Assesses the patient’s or resident’s nutritional status and develops an interdisciplinary care plan appropriate for each

    + Provides nutrition education to patients or residents and their family members on prescribed diets

    + Provides follow-up care to assess the effectiveness of the nutrition care plan

    + Collaborates with other health care team members about the patient’s or resident’s nutritional care through informal dialogue and interdisciplinary care conferences

    + Provides education and formal or informal presentations to other health care professionals or community groups

    + Gathers quality improvement data and assists in action plans to address areas needing improvement

    + Conducts medical record audits as assigned

    + May assume additional responsibilities, as requested

    Positions Qualifications

    + Minimum Required:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field plus successful completion of a supervised practice program for nutrition.

    + Eligible to sit for the registration examination for Dietitians, or eligibility for registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration with Successful completion of the Registration Examination for Dietitians within 6 months of hire date.

    + Obtains NYS certification as a dietitian-nutritionist (CDN) within 1 (one) year of hire or after passing the Registration Examination for dietitians.

    + CPR Certification.

    + Previous clinical experience

    + Registered Dietitian
