Job Title: Tax Accountant

Experience Level: Mid to Senior (5+ years preferred)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Accountant who can hit the ground running. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in tax preparation and planning, particularly within the agricultural sector. Our clients range from small family farms to large-scale operations, and we need someone who understands the unique nature of farm accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare individual and business tax returns for agriculture clients

+ Conduct tax planning meetings with clients to optimize financial outcomes

+ Analyze financial data specific to agricultural operations

+ Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance and maximize tax efficiency

+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of farm-specific tax laws and regulations

+ Support clients through seasonal fluctuations and complex financial scenarios

Qualifications:

+ 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, ideally with farm clients

+ Proven ability to manage 190+ tax returns annually, generating over $250K in revenue

+ Strong understanding of farm accounting principles and agricultural tax codes

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple client relationships

+ Excellent communication and client service skills

+ CPA or EA designation preferred but not required

Work Environment:

+ Hybrid schedule: 2 remote days per week

+ Flexibility required during busy season (January–April)

+ Collaborative team environment with a focus on client success

Ideal Candidate Profile:

+ Experienced in handling a high volume of tax returns (agriculture clients)

+ Comfortable working with clients of varying operation sizes

+ Detail-oriented, proactive, and client-focused

+ Ready to contribute immediately and grow within a dynamic team

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.40 - $54.80/hr.
