    Position Summary:

    Prepare for and deliver high-quality instruction using the provided curriculum materials and widely accepted instructional methods and active engagement strategies, such as discussions, demonstrations, facilitated lab/shop projects, simulations, practical lab, and community activities.

     

    Fairly, accurately and consistently evaluate student performance. Provide student advisors to assist students who are struggling academically or behaviorally, engaging in tutoring/mentoring, offering referrals to services, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to support student progress while remaining in compliance with the company's policies, procedures, and legal requirements, as well as those of regulatory agencies.

     

    Duties & Responsibilities

    + Ability to teach 35% of the classes

    + Understand Lincoln Tech's mission statement

    + Complete LIFT Onboarding with minimum grade of 80% and 80% attendance

    + Evidence of completing a minimum of 12 instructional hours of training

    + Teaching Standards

    + Ability to understand and execute Lincoln Tech's student-centered Blended Learning Model: start/end class on time; follow proper lab time versus didactic time; publish all work, and preps to explain and teach the learning obj/lesson/labs; agenda clearly on board, classroom expectations for behaviors, breaks, attendance and grading policy.

    + Demonstrate basic professional written and verbal communication skills using proper grammar and spelling

    + Basic level use: email, Portal+, able to access Canvas, use the Inbox, Resource Center, practice shell, create a weekly announcement, set due dates for all async work, and publish all assignments on time each week.

    + Consistently starts class on time, remains with class throughout each session, and ends class on time; completes student documentation and establishes a visitor-ready classroom; has a weekly plan for instruction that can be followed when absent

    + Adhere to all safety standards set forth by LT and your campus (including PPE)

    + Learn and understand the LT professional behaviors: planning, class time and breaks, attendance tracking, grading with integrity, appropriate appearance, language, and sensitivities (culture, gender, religious, and political), adherence to Lincoln policy for proper behavior, and following LT's code of ethics.

    + Evidence of advising, tutoring, and student outreach (Laserfiche documentation, phone calls, Canvas Inbox, email, etc.)

    + Campus Culture

    + Learns and understands the campus needs and value of teamwork

    + Assessment/Evaluation

    + Classroom Observation has four areas of best practices with defined levels of performance in each.

    + These areas are:

    + Purposeful Planning: Plans an intentionally structured process clearly focusing on specific learning outcomes, considering student needs, and carefully selecting teaching strategies to achieve those desired results

    + Effective Instruction: Develops and facilitates student academic practice so that all students participate and can master the objectives in the classroom environment that fosters a positive culture and climate of high expectations around teaching and learning achievement

    + Leadership: Develops and supports leadership within their school to ensure the achievement of all students

    + Professionalism: Demonstrates a pattern of having regular attendance, arriving, and leaving at designated times; Follows our accrediting bodies, corporation, and school policies and procedures (e.g., procedures for submitting discipline referrals, policies for appropriate attire, etc.); Respectful interactions with students, colleagues, and community members.

    + It is expected that instructors will review the classroom observation rubric specifics and ensure these best practices are in place.

    + End of Course and Campus surveys published, and student participation encouraged

    Education and Experience

     

    + High School diploma or GED

    + Minimum of 3 years related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (excluding teaching experience)

    + The necessary academic credentials, certifications, licenses, and work-related experience mandated by the company, state, accreditation, and any other regulatory agencies that monitor compliance

    Preferred :

    + OSHA 10 or 30 completion

     

    Additional State Specific Requirements

     

    + Connecticut: E1 or E2 license

    + Texas: Minimum of 5 years experience as a technician in the field

     

    Physical Demands and Work Conditions

     

    Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment that requires normal safety precautions. May be required work several schedules and shifts. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items up to 50 pounds, depending on the program. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities.
