As a **Principal Product Manager,** you will lead innovation across core Windows Shell experiences—including the Start Menu and Taskbar—reimagining how users engage with their devices through intuitive, AI-powered workflows. You’ll drive strategic evolution using the Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) framework, delivering clarity, speed, and measurable impact across millions of devices.

Responsibilities
+ **Drive AI-Powered UX Innovation** Design and deliver intelligent user experiences that simplify and accelerate everyday tasks across Windows Shell surfaces like the Start Menu and Taskbar.
+ **Translate Customer Insights into Strategy** Use telemetry, sentiment analysis, and direct customer engagement to uncover unmet needs and shape product direction through the Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) framework.
+ **Lead Cross-Functional Execution** Collaborate across product, engineering, design, research, and data teams. Guide scenario walkthroughs and golden configurations to identify friction points and ensure smooth delivery.
+ **Influence at the Highest Levels** Present confidently in executive forums, secure alignment and investment, and champion your product vision. Mentor peers and foster clarity across teams.
+ **Communicate with Impact** Craft compelling narratives that connect product strategy to customer value. Deliver crisp, actionable updates to stakeholders and leadership.
+ **Drive Engagement Across Windows & AI Assistants** Shape integration strategies that create seamless, intuitive experiences across Windows and Microsoft’s AI ecosystem.
+ **Define and Build the Product** Own the roadmap across multiple feature areas. Prioritize backlogs, manage tradeoffs, and explore design spaces using Generative AI to define breakthrough scenarios.
+ **Make Data-Informed Decisions** Partner with research and analytics teams to validate hypotheses, measure impact, and guide iteration. Track OKRs and KPIs like engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
+ **Launch with Precision** Collaborate with marketing, planning, and engineering to shape go-to-market strategies. Evangelize your work through presentations, blogs, and industry events.
+ **Build Secure & Compliant Experiences** Ensure all features meet SDL compliance and follow security best practices—from threat modeling to permissions minimization.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years of hands-on experience in User Experience (UX) or User Interface (UI) design and development.
+ 1+ years of experience working with AI assistants or agents, including designing or integrating AI-powered experiences.
Pre** **ferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years of experience bringing products or features to market, including design, product-market fit validation, and launch execution (internal tools or frameworks included).
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
