    The Office of the Commissioner of Political Practices (COPP) is seeking an experienced Compliance Auditor to develop and implement a program to exercise the Commissioner’s authority to audit lobbying reports. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience developing and determining the scope of new auditing initiatives. The candidate must also demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and extensive ability to work independently. This position will work under the direction of the Commissioner and Chief Legal Counsel and coordinate closely with the COPP Investigator. This position is temporarily funded through June 30, 2027. This position is expected to end when the funding ends. This position is open until it is filled. *Job Duties: * * Analyze lobbying statutes and reporting requirements to develop a process for auditing reports lobbyists are required to file with the Commissioner’s Office. * Determine the scope of the audit and identify causes of inconsistencies in lobbying reporting. * Develop policy recommendations for ensuring consistency and compliance. * Develop and implement procedures for documenting and communicating auditing and compliance requirements. * Develop and prepare management reports regarding auditing and compliance operations and progress. *Additional Requirements:* After the auditing process is established, travel may be required. *Required Competencies:* * Advanced knowledge of compliance auditing techniques, including the ability to develop new compliance standards and analyze effectiveness. * Extensive ability to work independently and determine work priorities. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Strong relationship-building and communication skills. * Strong ability to interpret and explain auditing and compliance deficiencies to stakeholders. * Ability to function under pressure and manage conflicting points of view; and * Ability to demonstrate discretion, integrity, and fair-mindedness. *Minimum Qualifications.* This position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business or a related field and two years of related experience.
