About the PositionThis position, under general supervision, prepares daily deposits, processes invoices and credit memos in both WWU’s financial system (Banner) and inventory software (Prism), and performs other tasks that support the fiscal functions of the Western Associated Students Bookstore. This position performs detailed fiscal data entry work and works independently to reconcile vendor accounts and assists with resolving fiscal discrepancies that arise.

This is a .75 position. The State HR classification is Fiscal Technician 2.

Required Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED Certificate

+ Strong organizational skills and practices

+ Demonstrated ability to pay attention to details

+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

+ Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity issues, including working with individuals from a wide array of backgrounds

+ Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

+ Experience with Excel (creating, modifying spreadsheets, using basic formulas)

Preferred Qualifications

+ One year cash handling experience

+ Experience with accounting/financial management systems

+ Experience with computerized point of sale inventory management accounting programs

+ Knowledge of acceptable accounting, business and retailing principles and practices and internal control methods

Salary $2,898 - $3,508/month (@.75 FTE) depending on qualifications and experience
