Resident Teacher

Position Summary:

WBCS is seeking applicants for a Resident Teacher. This position is a full-time position. Duties of this position include working directly with the classroom teacher toco-teach to implement lessons, small group instruction and overall classroom management.

RESIDENT TEACHER — Must hold a valid NYS Certification as a NYS Teacher

The Resident Teacher is responsible for providing instructional and behavioral support to students under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

+ Work with teachers to address individual needs of students

+ Work with students individually or in small groups, under supervision

+ Assist in classroom management

+ Use materials effectively and keep activity focused on objective

+ Attend professional development training

+ Co-teach instructionally with classroom teacher

+ Plan with grade level team

+ Other duties may be determined

+ Opportunities to work afterschool programming

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required

+ New York State teaching certification

+ Teaching or student teaching experience in a school preferred
