GCI's Senior Sourcing Manager will lead strategic sourcing projects to drive savings based on procurement category strategies, including full lifecycle project management of procurement events related to competitive bidding and incumbent renegotiations. This role directly affects the company’s cost structure and will have a direct impact on negotiated rates for products & services purchased by the company, margin improvement for cost of goods sold to company’s clients, and cost avoidance related to products & services purchased by the company. Strategic sourcing and negotiation activities will potentially include any area of expense and capital spending. Identifies cost and process synergies while collaborating with project stakeholders and Vice President (VP) sponsors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:
+ Collect and analyze data from suppliers and internal spend data.
+ Collect and analyze invoice data.
+ Prepare data requests for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
+ Research alternate suppliers to help create leverage and competitive bid opportunities.
+ Create Request for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Information (RFI) as needed; Issue and analyze RFQ, RFP, and RFI.
+ Conduct reference checks for new suppliers.
+ Using attention to detail, identify the areas of concern from a returned RFP, RFI and RFQ.
+ Create analytics that help drive RFI, RFP, and RFQ results.
+ Collect incumbent supplier performance feedback from business stakeholders.
+ Create deal summaries to prepare for negotiations.
+ Conduct peer reviews prior to negotiating with suppliers.
+ Conduct project kick off meetings, interview stakeholders, and document notes.
+ Work with business stakeholders and VP sponsors to document future demand and quantity requirements.
+ Develop and present baseline spend to VP sponsors, project team members, and procurement leaders.
+ Work with procurement leaders/members, VP sponsors, and project team members to build negotiation strategies.
+ Facilitate creation of supplier selection criteria with project team.
+ Provide regular communication to team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
+ Research industry and communicate and educate stakeholders & team members on findings.
+ Attend and assist with all meetings via video (video is required).
+ Read existing contracts to understand business and legal requirements.
+ Observe and document single source scenarios and business relationships that will impact sourcing events and negotiations.
+ Conduct contract and deal reviews with finance, legal, P/L owners, etc.
+ Make award recommendations and facilitate the contract finalization.
+ Close out projects through vendor, stakeholder, and systems via email.
+ Maintain a SharePoint site with status updates, category/project documentation, and all work products.
+ Work with other procurement members and foster a culture of learning, teamwork, and growth.
+ Continue to promote change on process or form of improvement.
+ Create and monitor pipeline projects.
+ Create KPIs and track performance at an individual and team level.
+ Transition completed projects to business owners for ongoing monitoring.

+ In-depth knowledge of telecom supply market capabilities, pricing, competition, licensing and commercial models, best practices, procurement methods, business process, tools and templates, contractual models, and effective stakeholder management.
+ Able to complete sourcing projects within agreed timeframes, driving $500K to $3M in savings value annually.
+ Able to use judgment and escalate where necessary to extract maximum value from cross functional teams.
+ Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data.
+ Able to assimilate opportunities for savings, effectively negotiate internally and externally to maximize value.
+ Able to assimilate understanding of supply market and business to identify and exploit opportunities for spend optimization and savings.
+ SAFETY & SECURITY - Supports a safe work environment by following all workplace safety rules and guidelines; complies with applicable Security policies and procedures.
+ Proficient computer skills and MS Office knowledge (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) to complete job duties effectively.
+ Proficient in Oracle, Procure to Pay tools, MS tool suite, and have the ability to learn proprietary systems.
Additional Job Requirements:
This is a senior level position functioning as the subject matter expert (SME) working under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment. Requires the ability to perform highly complex or unique special work assignments under deadlines and operating constraints. Must have high-level competency in skills/knowledge, communication, leadership, and overall business impact/value chain, and a comprehensive understanding of company operations, functions, and business philosophy. Must have the experience to provide functional/technical guidance to lower-level staff while fostering teamwork within area of responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required: *A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain or relevant field. *
+ Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in telecom, procurement, or business-related field. *
+ Experience leading project teams.
Preferred:
+ Telecommunications experience.
+ Relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
+ This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
+ Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
+ Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
+ Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
+ Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.
+ Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.
+ Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
+ Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.
