Our Patient Care Intern’s play a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is in at Union Health. Union Hospital Clinton is a not-for-profit, critical access hospital providing a full range of emergency, inpatient and outpatient services including diagnostic and treatments for a variety of medical conditions, illness and injuries to patients in Parke and Vermillion Counties. Their patient-focused philosophy emphasizes collaboration, integrity, transparency and stewardship to help patients reach better health and well-being.

This unit is led by Nursing Care Manager, Tammy Tanner. She has been with Union Health since 2023 and has been leading this unit since 2025.

Patient Care Intern Job Details:

Essential Job Duties :

+ Work under the direction of the nurse to perform tasks such as bathing patients, record IV pump shift totals, take vitals, answer call lights

+ Demonstrate basic knowledge of health and safety

+ Demonstrates appropriate conduct and positive attitude

+ Consults with the RN regarding unit activities

+ Communicate effectively with all team members

+ Serve as a patient advocate

Qualifications:

+ Must be actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program

+ Must have completed first semester of clinicals in a long-term care facility.

License/Certification :

+ BLS certification
