    Position Summary...

     

    As the Director of Assortment & Pricing Strategy for Walmart Business (B2B), you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of Walmart’s business-to-business offering. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that define the optimal product assortment and competitive pricing architecture to meet the unique needs of business customers.

     

    In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Finance, Analytics, and Product teams to deliver data-driven insights that balance customer value, profitability, and market competitiveness. You will lead initiatives that optimize Walmart Business’s assortment portfolio, enhance pricing strategies, and drive sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving B2B space.

     

    This position is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep expertise in assortment planning, pricing strategy, and B2B customer behavior, who can translate insights into action and influence decision-making at the highest levels.

     

    What you'll do...

    Key Responsibilities

    + Define and execute assortment strategy to ensure Walmart Business offers a compelling, customer-centric product portfolio aligned to B2B customer needs.

    + Lead pricing strategy development, balancing competitiveness, profitability, and customer value.

    + Leverage data and analytics to evaluate market trends, competitor pricing, and customer purchasing behaviors, using insights to guide strategic decisions.

    + Partner with Merchandising, Product, Finance, and Analytics teams to align assortment and pricing initiatives with broader business goals.

    + Develop and communicate business cases for assortment expansion, category prioritization, and pricing optimization.

    + Monitor and measure performance, driving continuous improvement in assortment efficiency, pricing accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

    + Serve as a thought leader on B2B assortment and pricing trends, influencing Walmart Business strategy and growth plans.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

    + +5 years of experience in merchandising strategy, pricing, category management, or assortment planning, ideally within retail, e-commerce, or B2B environments.

    + +3 years leading teams with direct supervisory and talent development experience

    + Proven success in developing and executing pricing and assortment strategies that drive customer engagement and business growth.

    + Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

    + Exceptional leadership, communication, and influence skills, with experience working across senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

    + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and balance long-term strategy with near-term execution.

    Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities.     The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, or related field and 5 years’ experience in operations, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in operations, project management, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience.
