Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President and Dean of Admission, the Associate Director will recruit, review, and enroll traditional first-year, full-time undergraduate students. This position is responsible for communicating the mission and essence of the University experience to students, parents, counselors, and other influencers.
The Associate Director manages a travel territory, as well as projects, processes, and/or a team of students, and is responsible for managing travel planning, off-campus programming, and serving as the lead liaison with the team in Development, Alumni, and University Relations ( DAUR ).
This position requires frequent travel and evening and weekend hours.
Essential Functions:
Manages a recruitment territory as measured by both qualitative and quantitative indicators such as relationship building, creativity with travel/recruitment strategies, self-management, volume, enrollment trends, and employment of fiscal and time management efficiencies.
Executes complex projects and/or processes; may lead teams of student or volunteers.
Manages independent travel domestically and/or internationally for a minimum of 4-6 weeks per cycle.
Develops a nuanced knowledge of the University’s mission, identity, academic programs, and admission-related messaging. Effectively communicates information about the University and the admission process.
Develops collaborative relationships with team members, other members of the University community, students and families, and guidance community.
Represents the Office of Admission at college panels and other special off-campus events hosted by the high school counseling community.
Executes responsibilities related to the review and processing of admission applications including meeting reading benchmarks, adhering to holistic reading standards, and delivering positive and proactive customer service to families and students at all stages in the process.
Communicates effectively (verbal, written) in individual settings and in group presentations (5-100+ people).
Coordinates travel planning and off-campus events and serves as liaison with HR managers, Campus Visit Team, and individual territory managers.
Analyzes travel trends using various data sources, such as Slate and other tools.
Serves as chief liaison with DAUR on admission/alumni events. Partner with the campus visit team on event creation. Guides the work of the FAST coordinator.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Undergraduate Admission.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree.
Familiarity with Technolutions SLATE or Admission CRM .
Advanced analytical acumen, particularly in compressed time frames with a high volume of application activity.
Minimum Salary: $77,000
Maximum Salary: $85,000
