    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    Manages the daily support operations of Surgical Services with the assistance of various data systems. Manages surgical equipment and instrumentation to include maintenance contracts, coordinating training on new equipment. Conducts case cost analysis, independent analyses, assist the Administrative Director of Surgical Services, Surgical Services Leadership and Perioperative Leadership with requested reports. Identifies and manages cost savings opportunities. Manages the Surgical Services Resource Coordinator and coordinates with the Supply Chain Director on initiatives and projects. Will work with the OR Manager and SPD Manager regarding equipment operations. Provides oversight of the OR Schedulers and supports the OR Manager and OR Administrative Director in maintaining OR block scheduling and resource utilization. Provides data to be used by the Specialty Experts to improve OR operations.

     

    Maintains Surgical Services computer systems within the Meditech system and OR equipment. system

     

    Troubleshoot equipment/software as needed. Act as a liaison between clinical modules and nursing staff providing training and orientation to new and existing staff.

     

    Develops and maintains the processes required to ensure accurate scheduling, billing, and inventory system.

     

    Maintain surgical implant processes and databases in compliance with regulatory bodies. Coordinate the installation, education, and support of existing and future information systems in Perioperative Services.

     

    Interfaces with Division and Corporate as needed regarding system use for Surgical Services. . Develops and maintains written protocols for system use with Surgical Services Leadership.

     

    Coordinates with SPD leadership to monitor and maintains instrument set tracking system. Works closely with the posting schedulers to clarify all posting information, insures information is correct and complete for procedures and anticipate the need for specialty equipment/instruments.

     

    Coordinates contracted services (i.e., cell saver) as needed for specific cases.

     

    In coordination with the Surgical Services Resource Coordinator and Supply Chain Director.and involve the Administrative Director for any negotiations with Vendors to achieve the best terms possible.

     

    Works with Supply Chain Director, Surgical Services Resource Coordinator, and Administrative Director to implement, monitor, and renew OR contracts.

     

    Reviews upcoming surgery schedules to ensure all outside implant, instrument, and equipment needs for a procedure are available as requested, along with the Surgical Services Leadership.

     

    Manages, analyzes, and assesses data from a variety of reports related to OR Metrics, including but not limited to OR dashboard, Core Measures from Power BI, Patient/Physician/Staff Satisfaction, and any other Performance or Quality measures along with the OR Manager and SPD Manager. Will present said data when needed at various meetings with Surgical Services Leadership.

     

    Performs special projects to meet service excellence as requested by the Administrative Director.

     

    Prepares various statistical reports, audits of regulatory compliance, scheduling, and other systems.

     

    Makes recommendations based on data analyzed from a variety of statistical reports with the Administrative Director.

    Education & Experience:

    Bachelor of Nursing required, Masters Preferred either MSN or MHA. Certification in a related specialty Required . (CNOR or CSSM) .

     

    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Operating Room.

     

    Ability to maintain a mature, professional manner and demonstrate sound judgment when dealing with vendor Representatives, OR Staff, Physicians, and Hospital Staff.

     

    Computer skills to include MS Office suite. Performance Improvement experience preferred
