Job Title: Press Setup Operator
Job Description
The Press Setup Operator role offers an exciting opportunity for advancement within our expanding organization. This is a 1st shift opportunity, with work hours spanning 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday, and optional overtime on Fridays. This role requires at least one year of experience as a Press Setup Operator or Setup Stamping Operator, along with a High School Diploma or GED. The position involves setting up and adjusting presses to maintain efficient operations and quality production, minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and skilled in working with industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Perform setups, adjustments, and changeovers on presses according to production requirements.
+ Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
+ Ensure proper tooling and materials are in place before starting production.
+ Conduct inspections to confirm setups meet specifications.
+ Work closely with machine operators and maintenance personnel to optimize performance.
+ Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Assist with preventive maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
+ Document setup processes and report any equipment concerns.
Essential Skills
+ Previous experience in press setup, die setup, or a similar mechanical role in a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
+ Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to lift product and stand for extended periods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of basic CNC, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
+ Forklift or crane operation experience.
+ Proficient in problem solving and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.

Work Environment
The position is for the 1st shift, from 6am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with optional overtime on Fridays. The work environment is clean, though it can be hot during the summer months. Employees have access to fans at their workstations. Our Rockford facility employs 140 people across two shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
